Raytheon UK has an exciting new opportunity for a Proposal Manager to join our team. As Proposal Manager, you will be a core part of the team built around our bids – you will be responsible for managing content creation, ensuring all response documents reflect the agreed proposal strategy, value propositions, and win themes. You will lead document authors in preparation of all proposal content and artefacts, ensuring compliance, responsiveness, quality, and consistency. Responsible for creating and maintaining the book plan for each opportunity, the Proposal Manager coordinates bid writing resources and activities to deliver content to the Bid Manager in accordance with the agreed bid schedule.
Our Proposal Manager is also responsible for coaching document authors in bid writing best practices and persuasive writing techniques. To be successful in this role the Proposal Manager will quickly form working relationships within bid teams and will be required to be flexible to support the development of winning proposals. You must be eligible and willing to gain BPSS and SC clearance, possible DV clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure ITT/RFP/ITN requirements for the bid submission are identified and addressed and develop recommendations for the appropriate proposal document structure.
- Work with the Bid Manager and subject matter experts to populate content plans in advance of the Bid / Proposal kick-off.
- Lead the document authors in preparation of all proposal volumes and artefacts, and presentation collateral, delivering completed inputs to the Bid Manager against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as required.
- Develop and maintain the book plan, managing and coordinating content creation activities and resources to time and schedule, and preserving all key milestones within the wider bid schedule.
- Train / coach document authors / subject matter experts in bid writing best practices and persuasive writing techniques.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a standard Raytheon UK style guide and working with the Bid Manager to tailor the guide for each pursuit.
- Lead and manage the pink/red/gold team review processes to assure proposal material quality, compliance and consistency in accordance with IPDS requirements; scheduling, organizing and coordinating the mechanics of each review.
- Manage the final editing, production and delivery of the Proposal (utilizing proposal production staff).
- Ensure configuration control of all key proposal documentation and ensures effective communication of changes to key stakeholders.
- Lead adoption of new software and workflows in proposal writing as required.
- Positive attitude – the successful candidate will be able to rapidly form relationships in newly formed bid team and will be the focal point in the bid room for the proposal.
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex proposals in a technical market.
- Strong attention to detail – experience of managing a structured and rigorous approach to ensure proposal compliance.
- Experience of persuasive writing – must be able to develop and embed our win themes in every proposal.
- Experience of leading successful Colour Team reviews.
- APMP Bid Management Practitioner Certification or similar.
- Track record of winning bids with the UK Ministry of Defence.
- Experience of delivering writing and proposal training.
- Experience of successful use of specialist proposal tools.
- 37hr working week with early finish Fridays.
- 25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days and up to 5 paid days volunteering.
