Raytheon is seeking an experienced and qualified business development individual to join the APS R&C (Requirements and Capabilities) team in order to be its main conduit to European defence primes such as Leonardo, Airbus, Hensholdt, General Dynamics, SAAB and Rheinmettal, Terma, etc. The goal of the position is to build customer intimacy, understand customer strategies, be the voice of the customer back to Raytheon, shape and develop pipeline and work as needed with proposals to close business deals.In addition, interchanges with European defence officials might need to be conducted as warranted This person will be jointly accountable with Raytheon APS R&C to develop and maintain APS pipeline.
What You Will Do
- Develop, maintain and “own” effective relationships with OEMs as well as key partners and suppliers to further APS pursuits and captures
- Be the primary point of contact for customer engagement and shaping efforts with these OEMs
- Identify, validate, and develop new leads for prioritized APS capabilities to drive international bookings growth
- Support efforts associated with export licensing in coordination with opportunity pursuit teams and Global Trade representatives
- Collaborate with Raytheon R&C, product lines and in theatre Global Accounts Team to develop Raytheon strategies for OEMs and help execute strategies to increase APS content on OEM platforms.
- Collect, analyse, and disseminate critical market and/or competitive intelligence; understand competitor positioning in various European markets
- Be the voice of the customer back into Raytheon for business development needs, to include customer satisfaction issues
- Ensure that all customer requests/concerns are handled with professionalism and within in a timely manner
- Maintain clear communication lines with all Raytheon stakeholders including regular updates and status
- Expected Travel up to 50% of the time within Europe

Qualifications You Must Have
- Required education: minimum Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a relevant field such as Business management, International Relations, or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
- A minimum of seven (7) years with progressive leadership positions in Business Development or Defence Sales to include shaping and capture of contracts
- Pre-existing relationship with at least one major OEM in Europe
- Ability to quickly understand products and capabilities such as RF sensors, EO/IR sensors and Electronic Warfare and how these capabilities fit into larger architectures to positively affect missions.
- Understanding of procurement processes across Europe
- Ability to develop and manage effective cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers and associates.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision when required but also to work as part of a team and to put the needs of the team first
- Consistent and unquestionable ethical conduct in all business interactions and agreements with internal and external parties.
- Fluent in English

- Past military experience
- NATO experience
- Familiarity with US FCPA and ITAR requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision when required but also to work as part of a team and put the team’s needs first
