Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Harlow – hybrid working (3 days at Harlow)
Travel: possible business travel to UK sites as per business requirements

Summary of Role:
Raytheon are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to support our Business Areas. Reporting to the Quality Manager this role shall be responsible for delivering Quality Assurance in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy across the several programs within the business. The QA Engineer shall also be integrated and aligned to the respective program team(s).
Working as part of the QA Team, conducting day to day Quality Assurance activities whilst engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Main Duties:

  1. Ensure the Quality Management System processes and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  2. Plan, conduct and oversee Internal Audits to support Raytheon’s Certifications. Key player and representative during External audits.
  3. Help the PM, Engineering & Manufacturing teams define requirements for new products from a compliance perspective.
  4. Lead Quality Working Groups to diagnose and mitigate product non-conformities identified internally and externally. Drive RCCA and Non-Conformance Management to conclusion.
  5. Providing advice to the Business Area Lead and all Program Managers on the quality aspects of the work being undertaken. Understanding the Product Development Lifecycles to provide key Quality inputs during the different stages.
  6. Quality support to the technical design organization and program reviews.
  7. Ensuring compliance with QMS standards, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and creating quality documentation.
  8. Perform the quality activities within the Programs in support of the Design activities, respective Quality Assurance Plans i.e. First Article Inspections, Source Inspections, support checks on incoming and outgoing products i.e. Certificates of Conformance.
  9. Customer liaison on any External Customer quality audits or meetings.
  10. Perform and Manage Internal process audits across any business function with the larger UK QA team.
  11. Concession management.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Writing and reviewing Quality Plans, reports and customer documentation.
  2. Developing and maintaining sound, productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  3. Effective problem solving and multi-tasking to ensure the programs can meet their needs whilst still achieving the agreed quality requirements.
  4. Proactive approach to risk reduction to prevent & resolve issues and remove non-value add processes.
  5. Experience performing audits of products and processes within a program or business according to ISO Standards. Knowledge of RCCA Toolsets and techniques.
  6. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels as well as technical SMEs.
  7. Coaching and guiding other team members and stakeholders in the needs of the business from a QA perspective.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:

  2. Experience of problem solving and resolution. Effective and concise presentation skills.
  3. Experience of Quality Assurance, Internal Auditing and RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) methodologies.
  4. Stakeholder Management.
  5. Management and estimation of project budgets, QA time & finances.
  6. Process Improvement, flows, mapping and streamlining.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all business levels.
  8. To complete a baseline check and also complete SC Clearance for the role.

Desirable:

  1. ISO Auditor Trained (Internal) or Knowledge of Standards ISO9001 and/or AS9100.
  2. Experience within Manufacturing and/or Quality Engineering Organisation.
  3. Ability to review & interpret technical drawings and/or test.
  4. Earned Value Management Systems.
  5. Effective facilitation skills.

The work will be based out of our Harlow Site with possible national travel requirements.
