Location: Harlow/London – Hybrid role with a customer base in the South East

Summary of Role

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a small team to maximise Raytheon UK’s ATMS, APNT and internal Manufacturing Sales, including matrix management of a US-based team member. You will work with the team to develop sales strategies, routes to market, associated campaigns, and execute these to meet the Annual sales plan (AOP), building a pipeline of opportunities. You will lead/support key captures and support the three sales areas as workload demands.

Reporting to the Executive Director R&C and Strategy with a matrixed line to the Advanced Products mission area lead, you should have recent experience in business strategy development and product sales in a relevant environment.

Main Duties

  • Lead the R&C teams in the Advanced Products mission area to create strategies for growth, develop new opportunities, and win new business.
  • Coordinate and execute a prioritized plan of action focusing on pursuits within the current AOP and LRP.
  • Work with R&C leads on business capture, pipeline development, and proposal writing.
  • Coordinate with US Business R&C teams on international opportunities.
  • Manage budgets for R&C and B&P in conjunction with Finance.
  • Align IR&D /Seed Fund budgets with sales plans with Heads of Finance and Engineering.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to plan and execute capture strategies.
  • Manage program accounts, reviews, assessments, and customer engagements.
  • Own the business strategy for Advanced Products and develop related product, service, and marketing plans.
  • Lead and manage the R&C team, fostering a positive culture and supporting team development.
  • Contribute to wider R&C and Communication strategies as a senior leader.
  • Identify channels to market, including direct sales, OEMs, resellers, or partners.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in business development/strategy within Advanced Products areas.
  • Creative, energetic, and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Commercial awareness with risk and opportunity assessment skills.
  • Role model for RTX leadership behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, including the board.
  • Experience in winning new business individually.
  • Track record of meeting capture and sales targets.
  • Ability to develop market strategies, including product development and pricing.
  • Understanding of UK and international markets.
  • Relevant security clearances or willingness to apply for them.
  • Experience in product/system/service integration.
  • Leadership experience in developing successful teams.
  • Strong relationships with UK and international customers, including experience in customer acquisition.
  • Interest and understanding of UK and international defence, security, and aerospace issues.
  • Understanding of different commercial models for products and services.
