Raytheon is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. The work consists of planned and ad hoc hardware/system engineering tasks on customized special application systems, including system analysis, testing/integration of new deliveries, and discrepancy identification and work off supporting the customer’s 24x7 mission. This position will be ONSITE in Harrogate, England.
What You Will Do
- Primary responsibilities include Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support to a large, integrated, complex Hardware-Software communications systems in a real-time environment.
- Discrepancy report work off and problem resolution, O&M training/mentoring, trending and analysis, procedure development, data collection, fault isolation, and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance support across multiple external interfaces over an extensive multi-tiered network.
- Work closely with delivering factories to provide support to development activities, installation efforts, and special test configurations.
- Problem-solving in time-critical situations.
- Contribute to the development of new creative and complex concepts that will provide value to the customer.
- Report and document anomalous performance and interact with other team members to validate operational requirements performance.
- Crosstrain in other operational positions as assigned and assist with the training of other personnel.
- Development of troubleshooting/recovery plans and implementation of associated management and customer briefs may also be required.
- Support test activities and/or operational requirements as necessary.
- Participates in corrective maintenance requiring removal/replacement, repair, and testing of failed hardware.
- Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, ladders, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, working in non-environment-controlled spaces, working at elevated heights.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Receive Facility (RF) communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems.
- Working knowledge of various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/link/network analyzers, power meters and signal generation equipment.
- Experience adhering to administrative, safety and security policies.
- SATCOM experience.
- Experience with Customer built and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTs) based high speed networks, IT systems and real-time software applications supporting communication systems.
- An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Knowledge and experience with facility support systems for RF ground terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.).
- Prior military electronics and or satellite communications training/experience.
- Security+ certification or higher.
- IT experience (LAN, WAN, Cisco w/certification).

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
