About the role: This fixed term contract role provides support to the Operations Finance team. It exists to backfill day-to-day responsibilities while subject matter experts focus on a major systems transformation project. The role provides analysis, reporting and coordination across the rates cycles, government accounting activities, functional forecasts and operational finance processes. It offers exposure to multiple business areas and functions, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Rate Submissions: Support planning cycles (LRP/AOP), rate calculations, recoverability analysis, and preparation of rate decks.
- Rate Management: Handle routine rate queries, maintain recovery forecasts and R&O registers, produce reporting packs, and support dashboards and system processes.
- Government Accounting: Assist with compliance activities, regulatory reporting, and coordination of internal/external audits.
- Functional Business Partnering: Work with non-finance functional leads to obtain accurate headcount forecasts and assist them with their understanding of financial information.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Finance qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
- Several years' experience in finance roles, including exposure to budgeting, forecasting or cost accounting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts.
- Strong systems skills (SAP, Excel).
Desirable Experience
- Experience in project accounting, long‑term contracts or defence sector advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of integrated financial systems such as SAP, Cognos & BW.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset with willingness to learn complex rate and regulatory environments.
