Joining Collins Aerospace isn’t just about finding a job; it’s about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace technology. Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defence industry. At the Marston Green Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) UK facility, we provide specialist technical support for Electronic Engine Control, Fuel Metering units, Actuators and Pump units widely used in the Aerospace industry.

To support our existing business and drive future growth, we have 4 Apprentice opportunities within our Operations function.

What you will do:

During the three-year Apprenticeship Programme, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of operational cells, as well as within key support functions. This will provide you with a broad understanding of the business and its engineering operations. The apprenticeship covers two main operational areas:

  • Electronics – Repairing Electronic Engine Controllers used across a variety of aircraft and applications.
  • Hydro-Mechanical – Carrying out repair and overhaul activities on fuel pumps, actuators, metering units, and other engine-related components.

What you will learn:

Throughout the programme, you will complete a combination of vocational theory and practical, on-the-job training. This training will be delivered in partnership with our training provider, In-Comm, and will lead to the achievement of the Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician Level 3 qualification. In addition, you will complete all required training to obtain a certification stamp, enabling you to work independently once qualified.

Skills and Experience Required:

We expect that you will be just starting your career in Operations so, alongside our training partner, we will delight in training and supporting you through your career journey to successfully complete your apprenticeship. That means you need to be a willing learner and committed to achieving both business and personal results whilst working as part of a team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Aerospace Manufacturing. You will be computer literate, with good time management skills and a high level of attention to detail. You will have obtained a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics and English and a STEM subject.

What We Offer:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress into a Test Technician role within either the Electronics or Hydro-Mechanical cell, depending on your personal interests and business needs. In addition, we offer a benefits package which includes a competitive base salary as well as 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. There is also an Employee Assistance Programme, ability to buy and sell holidays, employee discounts, a fantastic pension scheme, discounted gym membership and much, much more.
