Raytheon UK is going through a sustained period of growth, delivering new technology, customers and capability into the UK Defence Market. Due to this increase in activity, we require a senior Operations Leader for our Livingston Site. The Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for all aspects of Safety, Delivery, Quality and cost on production and development programs, as well as being designated site lead for the Livingston facility.
Reporting to the UK Head of Manufacturing, the Operations Manager will lead a team of Production managers to establish key elements of tactical and operational plans with direct impact towards the achievement of results, with a focus on short to medium-term time horizons.
Production programs are managed within agreed quality standards as well as financial budgets and timescales. Productivity and problem-solving through our Lean management system. Drive Lean implementation in manufacturing in alignment with the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) and the RTX Management System. Manufacturing compliance is maintained to RUK standards. Site operation and growth plans have a defined site leader working with key functional, program and customer stakeholders.
This position demands a dynamic leader with a proven background in a high reliability industry, operations management and team development. The Operations Manager must effectively balance day-to-day operational oversight while supporting site strategic plans to ensure the factory remains competitive, efficient, and responsive to customer needs. This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, driving innovation, resolving challenges, and fostering a highly motivated and engaged workforce that consistently delivers results.
What your days will look like:
- Drive World-class safety culture is maintained and respond to all site EH&S requirements promptly.
- Manufacturing compliance is maintained to RUK standards.
- Accountable for Manufacturing at Livingston location holding overall responsibility for production of quality products in an efficient and timely manner.
- Provides leadership coaching and development for Production Managers and production team leads.
- Disciplined execution of the daily Lean management system, including Tiered accountability meetings, visual management systems, and leader standard work. Drive accountability to daily results and rapid corrective actions to overcome misses.
- Responsible for training and overall development of the manufacturing team in alignment with business needs. Responsibility will grow to approximately 200 direct and indirect reports.
- Champion for safety, quality improvement, and CORE programs across all manufacturing areas.

- Demonstrated track record of using continuous improvement tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- A Business or Engineering degree would be advantageous.
