Raytheon UK's Training Transformation Business is looking for an ambitious and capable Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. The Training Transformation team delivers a wide range of programmes across four key areas: Training Integration, Training Equipment, Training Delivery, and Training Simulation. This can be to military customers or through other key defence companies.

This role would be ideal for a Junior Project Manager and will offer you the opportunity to develop your Project Management experience within a large and dynamic programme. You will be given meaningful responsibility early on and the freedom to work autonomously, with limited supervision.

We are looking for someone with an ability to anticipate problems across a span of issues and work areas, and to overcome them. We need a person who can work within a close-knit team, with the confidence to communicate and express ideas, twinned with the humility to listen to other people's ideas. We need an individual who has a firm foundation of Project Management understanding and experience, but who is willing to learn and who wants to be developed.

This role will report to a Programme Manager within the business area.

Main Duties:
  • Support the development of programme and project plans.
  • Support the delivery of programmes and projects; with the opportunity to lead selected Projects within the portfolio.
  • Support the regular review and update of cross-functional management plans.
  • Identify risks and support the development and execution of mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to the identification and delivery of enhancements to systems and processes.
  • Support the programme Change Process, including the management of Baseline Change Requests and Work Authorisations.
  • Monitor Programme and Project progress and escalate issues that impact progress.
  • Compile and submit programme status reports and briefs to the Customer and Raytheon management.
  • Sustain collaborative relationships with the Customer, Partners and across Raytheon.
Candidate RequirementsEssential:
  • An ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • An ability to work effectively within a team, and to support others.
  • A relevant Programme / Project Management qualification such as: Prince2; APMP; MSP.
Desirable:
  • Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience.
  • Some experience of working within the defence industry or alongside an MOD customer.
  • Working knowledge of project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel and other relevant applications.
