About the role: Atlassian Jira Administrator to design, implement, migrate and run isolated, per-project Jira environments. You will capture the requirements and build custom workflows and permission models, provide daily user support, and lead migrations between Atlassian instances. This role requires hands-on Cloud and Data Centre Atlassian Suite administration, migration experience, strong stakeholder skills, automation rules and JQL experience.
Key responsibilities:- Design and maintain isolated per-project environments: create and manage project-specific Jira projects, permission schemes, issue types, screens, custom fields, and notification schemes.
- Build custom workflows and permission models tailored to each project's process, security, and compliance needs.
- Day-to-day support: respond to user tickets, troubleshoot issues, perform audits, update documentation, and deliver training and onboarding for end users and project admins.
- Integrations and automation: automation rules, and marketplace apps to support per-project customizations while minimizing cross-project risk.
- Governance and change control: enforce naming conventions, change approval workflows, access reviews, and periodic audits to keep isolated environments secure and consistent.
- Be responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
- Any other duties required to develop the Training Design Service.
- Proven Atlassian administration experience (Jira Cloud and/or Data Centre) with strong hands-on configuration of projects, workflows, schemes, screens, and permissions.
- Strong stakeholder and support skills: experience gathering requirements, training users, and delivering day-to-day support with clear documentation.
- Security and governance mindset: experience with permission modelling, SSO/SAML, and periodic access/audit processes.
- Automation and integration skills: automation rules, and common add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira).
- Custom-per-project design skills: ability to design and operate multiple isolated environments without cross-contamination of schemes or data.
- Strong understanding of Excel, VBA and Jira/Excel interactions.
- Atlassian certifications (Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or equivalent).
- Experience with multi-tenant or multi-project governance at scale.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and integrations.
- Prior experience managing Atlassian Data Centre tenancy, tenancy-level settings, and marketplace app governance.
