Senior Social Workers - Family Help Service £39.04ph
Location: Hackney
The social worker will be holding cases from when the family are allocated to when the case closes.
To carry out children and family assessments:
- Children in Need
- Child Protection
- Court work (that currently the Child Protection Service do)
Education, Training and Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work / Post Qualified Experience
- Social Work England registered / HCPC Registered
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) disclosure at enhanced level
PROVEN EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, risk and protective factors
- Ability to summarise, analyse and evaluate complex information
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, Child Protection Procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of systemic interventions, methodologies and commitment to the systemic approach and Social Learning Theory interventions
- Ability to formulate and implement effective social work interventions
- Ability to write concise reports and have excellent verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy and the skills necessary to work with information management systems and produce good quality data in a variety of formats
- Ability to create a rapport and build relationships with children and parents / carers
Accountability
- Knowledge and understanding of statutory frameworks and guidance for children’s social work
- Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children’s agencies
- An understanding of relationship management and the capacity to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships
- Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to communities from different racial and cultural backgrounds and Equal Opportunities
