An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician to join our growing team, supporting the production of Intraocular Lenses that help improve people’s vision worldwide. You will be working in a manufacturing environment at our state-of-the-art HQ in Worthing, West Sussex. This is a full‑time permanent role, worked in 12‑hour shifts between 7am to 7pm in 4 on, 4 off rotations. You will earn £27,867 (annual salary of £24,767 plus £3,100 shift allowance).
Responsibilities- Operate machinery and associated process equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow SOPs, safety procedures and training given by experienced technicians.
- Complete batch documentation accurately, understanding daily workflows and instructions.
- Understand and follow requirements for working in a change control environment.
- Assist with Process Improvement activities and new ways of working.
- Ensure that the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures are followed.
- Complete all data entries accurately and fully onto the process records.
- Lathe: Where blank acrylic disks are mounted, cut, and profiled on machines, measured for accuracy, cleaned in a wax removal bath, and then sent to the Dimensions department.
- Tumble/Dimension: Where lenses are cleaned, hydrated, and measured for thickness and optical power before moving to cosmetic inspection.
- Cosmetic Inspection: Where lenses are checked under a microscope, defective ones removed, and the rest loaded into injectors, filled with saline, and sealed.
- Primary Pack: Where lenses from Cosmetic Inspection are checked for defects, labelled with batch and serial numbers, sealed into pouches, then sterilised in autoclaves.
- Final Pack: Where sealed lens pouches are placed into cartons with required paperwork, a final visual check is performed, labelling is completed, and shipped to the warehouse.
- Previous experience working in production (desirable).
- Ability to follow written instructions and processes.

- Literate in written and numerate English.
- Basic computer skills and data entry.
