We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Engineer to join our Building Services team. In this role, you will oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of our premises’ structures, electrical systems, and mechanical services, ensuring our facilities operate safely and efficiently. This is a full-time role, to be worked across a variety of shift patterns (early shifts, day shifts and late shifts). This role is predominantly based at our state‑of‑the‑art HQ in Worthing, with weekly travel to our site in Crawley. The role will include participating in an on‑call rota, providing a dynamic and varied working experience while supporting operational continuity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Plan, manage, and execute preventative maintenance programs, in‑house and with third‑party providers.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance activities, and surveys in line with company and statutory requirements.
- Assist with building alterations, improvements, and infrastructure projects from design to completion.
- Manage service provider contracts, supervise contractors, and control day‑to‑day maintenance expenditure.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for all building services functions.
- Review and report on equipment performance, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and statutory regulations.
- Support ongoing improvements in Health & Safety across the business.
- Assist the Head of Facilities in managing service provider contracts including arranging and supervising contractor attendances, contract renewals and unplanned works.
- Update and maintain the Facilities Maintenance database in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
What Experience & Skills You Will Need:
- BTEC/NVQ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Driving Licence & Access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of relevant Building and Health and Safety Regulations.
- A problem‑solving mindset to diagnose issues quickly and implement practical solutions.
- Safety and compliance awareness, ensuring all work consistently meets Health & Safety and statutory standards.
- Adaptable and flexible approach, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational demands.
- Organised and methodical, plans and prioritises work to meet deadlines and schedules.
- Competent IT user able to use and learn different packages and systems including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to check work thoroughly to ensure quality and reliability.
- Experience of managing contractors and directing building services consultants.
- Experience of mechanical and electrical systems installation and / or maintenance.
- Experience of preparing work schedules / project plans.
- Previous experience working in a production environment.
