An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Technician in our Cosmetic Inspection department to join our growing team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards for intraocular lenses that help restore vision worldwide. This role is ideally suited to individuals who are meticulous, quality-driven, and thrive in environments requiring precision and concentration. You will be working in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment, using microscopes and specialised equipment to inspect delicate Intraocular Lenses. Whether you already have experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, or inspection-based role, or you are looking to transition into this type of environment, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills. You will be based at our state-of-the-art HQ in Worthing, West Sussex.

Employment Details

  • Full-time, permanent role
  • 12-hour shifts, 7pm – 7am, 4 on / 4 off rotation
  • Salary: £31,783 (including £6000 shift allowance)

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine intraocular lenses under a microscope, identifying and removing any defective units
  • Use tweezers to carefully load the lenses into injectors while working under magnification
  • Load injectors into trays, accurately fill with saline, and seal for further processing
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail to ensure only products meeting strict quality standards progress
  • Follow SOPs and work within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Accurately complete batch documentation and data entry
  • Work within a cleanroom environment, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, precision, and continuous improvement

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, inspection, or quality-focused environment (desirable but not essential)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to detect very small defects
  • Excellent manual dexterity and steady hand coordination
  • Ability to remain focused on repetitive, high-precision tasks
  • Comfortable working with microscopes or willing to be trained
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and procedures
  • Basic computer skills for accurate data entry

Working Environment & PPE Requirements

This role is based in a controlled cleanroom environment. To maintain product quality and safety, you will be required to wear full PPE, including:

  • White shoes with over shoes
  • Blue cleanroom suit
