The predicted salary is between 27000 - 33000 £ per year.

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Company’s global legal function, to be responsible for maintenance of the legal department’s contract repository, contract processes and provide general legal and company secretarial support to the business.

Duties also include drafting various standard agreements for review by department lawyers and data collection across the business for insurance and compliance purposes.

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position on a hybrid working model - 3 days on-site at our Global HQ in Worthing, 2 days WFH.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with project work for the Legal Department, providing support for the Rayner Group’s corporate activity including M&A, ‘Go-Direct’ strategy and commercial collaborations.
  • Drafting, checking and amending legal documents.
  • Minute taking, file note drafting and record taking.
  • Providing company secretarial support, including preparing board and committee papers, drafting minutes and resolutions, maintaining statutory registers and books, and assisting with Companies House and equivalent overseas entity filings and management across the Rayner Group.
  • Assist in preparation of documents, organising and maintaining strict file storage protocols.
  • Conducting legal and factual research under the guidance of Legal Director / Group Legal Counsel, utilising research tools for case law, legislation, commentary, company and business information and practical guidance.
  • Administering, supporting and (where appropriate) managing Rayner Group compliance functions.
  • Administrative support on maintaining the Rayner Group insurance portfolio, including liaising with internal stakeholders on renewal programme.
  • Guide Company staff with respect to contract processes and procedures
  • Assist in the configuration and ongoing management of the Company’s contract database; work within the database to ensure complete and accurate input of contracts and contract provisions
  • Work with material that is generally of a critical or confidential nature.

What Experience & Skills You Will Need

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience in a commercial legal setting, either in-house or in private practice.
  • Strong computer skills required in applications used in general office settings including word processing, spreadsheet, data base management, presentation software and Internet search engines.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail; ability to spot issues and exercise commercial acumen
  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-moving, deadline driven environment;
  • Must be capable of working with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment; awareness of when appropriate to elevate issues to Company Legal Counsel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent grammatical and proofreading skills
  • The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships across the business
  • Discretion, tact and diplomacy

Desirable

  • Experience working in a medical device / manufacturing company
  • Part-qualification with, or working towards qualification of, the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI/ICSA), or equivalent company secretarial experience
