We're working with a successful, independently owned property business that is entering an exciting new phase of growth following a significant acquisition, with further expansion plans already in the pipeline. As a result, we're looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance who is ready to take ownership of the finance function while becoming a key member of the senior leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to join a dynamic, fast-paced organisation where they can make a genuine impact. While experience within estate agency or property is beneficial this is not essential, we welcome applications from candidates with strong finance leadership experience from any industry.
You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, providing financial insight, driving improvements in financial performance, and ensuring robust financial controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- You’ll oversee the day-to-day financial operations, produce meaningful management information, lead budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage cash flow and financial reporting, strengthen financial controls and help identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance.
- You’ll also become the company’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer, oversee compliance.
- Support future acquisitions through detailed financial analysis and ensure the finance function continues to support the wider business as it grows.
- Alongside the strategic elements of the role, you’ll remain close to the detail, overseeing areas including aged debt, purchase ledger, lettings accounts and landlord payments while ensuring accurate financial reporting across the business.
We’re looking for someone who combines technical financial expertise with commercial awareness and strong leadership skills. You’ll ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems.
- Experience within property, estate agency, or professional services would be advantageous but is not essential.
