West Southampton Medical Group in Southampton (SO15 5AL/SO16 4NZ) are looking for an enthusiastic, part‑time receptionist to join our experienced and professional team in supporting our patients and clinical staff at the surgeries. We are seeking a friendly, diligent individual who has experience of a public facing role and ability to multi‑task and cope in a sometimes pressurised environment. This is a very busy role, dealing with enquiries both face to face, over the telephone and via computer systems and therefore needs an individual who is IT literate with great communication skills.

Shift pattern: Monday 7:30‑12:30 and 13:30‑18:30, Tuesday 07:30‑12:30, Thursday 07:30‑12:30, Friday 07:30‑12:30.

Brief Job Summary:
  • Act as first point of contact for patients, clinicians, members of the public and other agencies as appropriate.
  • Provide reception and administrative support to ensure the smooth day to day running of the Surgery.
  • Efficiently use clinical systems and processes to ensure appropriate use of appointment slots, including assessment of urgent appointments and visit requests in line with guidelines set out by the Surgery.
