You’ll join a collaborative data warehousing team at a pivotal moment, working across both ongoing business initiatives and a major company‑wide integration programme. Your expertise in SSIS, T‑SQL, and modern data engineering practices will directly shape how we ingest, transform, and deliver data across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Analysis & Design - Partner with Data Analysts to map source systems, refine data models, and design SSIS packages and database schemas.
- ETL Development & Integration - Redevelop and uplift existing ETL pipelines to bring multiple systems together into a unified warehouse.
- T‑SQL Engineering - Write and optimise complex scripts, stored procedures, and transformations for high‑performance data processing.
- Performance Optimisation - Ensure our warehouse is stable, scalable, and ready for increasing data volumes.
- Testing & Validation - Validate ETL accuracy, troubleshoot data quality issues, and support end‑to‑end testing.
- Documentation - Keep our technical documentation clear, complete, and future‑proof.
- Collaboration - Work closely with analysts, developers, SMEs, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑value data solutions.
What You Bring:
Required
- 3+ years working in operational data teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Hands‑on experience designing and delivering data warehouse and ETL solutions.
- Strong SSIS and SQL Server development background.
- Deep knowledge of T‑SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Experience scripting within SSIS (PowerShell, C#, Python).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
Preferred
- Exposure to data warehouse uplift or modernisation projects.
- Experience working in organisations undergoing mergers or acquisitions.
- Familiarity with WhereScape Red.
- Knowledge of data modelling, data architecture, governance, and data quality frameworks.
