The financial services industry faces persistent and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats from a wide range of adversaries. The Raymond James Cyber Threat Centre (CTC) protects the organisation by detecting, analysing, and responding to these threats across all global entities. As a central hub for Computer Network Operations, the CTC leads incident response, threat hunting, intelligence, and insider threat functions. In this leadership role, you will guide a high‑performing, globally distributed team, shape the evolution of our incident response capability, and work with emerging technologies to solve complex security challenges. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business and help drive a culture of resilience, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Cyber Security Incident Response (CSIRT) mission, ensuring continuous maturity of incident response processes and effective management of a global team.
  • Provide direction and support during high‑pressure security incidents, adapting quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Lead and develop a team of Cyber Threat Analysts responsible for 24/7 response to cyber threats.
  • Oversee forensic investigations across HR, Legal, Compliance, Fixed Income, and other business areas.
  • Ensure the health, performance, and optimisation of incident detection and response tools.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Partner with teams across Information Security and Technology to enhance protective, detective, and response capabilities.
  • Ensure seamless continuity of operations across incident response shifts.
  • Maintain situational awareness of global cyber threats and take appropriate action.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Lead or contribute to security‑related projects, strategic initiatives, and capability development.
  • Develop new forensic and investigative techniques using modern tooling.
  • Act as a security consultant to business units, helping them understand and manage cyber risks.
  • Identify and drive organisational improvements that support evolving customer and market needs.
  • Set clear, meaningful performance objectives aligned with organisational values and strategy.
  • Communicate in a clear, compelling way that motivates teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster innovation, encouraging new approaches to solving complex problems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a Cyber Security Incident Response team (preferred).
  • Experience in financial services (preferred).
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders and clients.
  • One or more of the following certifications (preferred): CISSP, OSCP, OSCE, GCIH, GCIA.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ICERF incident response methodology.
  • Knowledge of vulnerabilities, threat actor behaviours, and effective countermeasures.
  • Experience with project management and emerging technologies.
  • Understanding of enterprise risk management.
  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent, ensuring the right skills are in place to meet business needs.
  • Experience building cohesive, high‑performing teams with clear structure and direction.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback, coaching, and empowerment to support career growth.
