The Cyber Security Analyst plays a key role in supporting, deploying, and improving a wide range of Information Security tools and technologies. These include SIEM, DLP, vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, IDS/IPS, next‑generation firewalls, host intrusion detection, network access control, encryption, mobile technologies, and cloud storage protections. This role requires maintaining strong situational awareness of risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, as well as helping to implement effective defensive controls to protect the Raymond James environment. The ideal candidate is curious, eager to learn, and comfortable working through complex security challenges in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and maintain endpoint security agents (AV, encryption, firewall, DLP, etc.).
- Investigate and resolve incidents related to endpoint security tools.
- Create, maintain, and improve process documentation, runbooks, and playbooks for new tools and standards.
- Support compliance across all assets with multiple security frameworks and internal standards.
- Investigate and resolve DLP alerts, tuning rules to reduce false positives.
- Identify and audit shadow IT using CASB tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security control checks and tooling.
- Create and maintain rules within privilege management systems.
- Ensure systems and assets meet required logging standards.
- Work collaboratively with technical and business teams to develop vulnerability remediation plans and track them to completion.
- Automate repeatable tasks using scripting languages where appropriate.
- Participate in an on‑call rota as part of the wider team.
- Contribute security expertise to projects where security input is required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with next‑generation firewalls.
- Windows Server and Desktop environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking.
- Experience with DLP, NAC, and IDS/IPS technologies.
- Vulnerability management tools and processes.
- SIEM experience (beneficial).
- Experience working in large enterprise environments; financial services experience is preferred but not essential.
Certifications (Beneficial)
- Vendor certifications such as Cisco, Juniper, or Check Point.
