The Opportunity
The HR Generalist will support the HR Director, Head of HR and other HR members in all HR’s practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture within the business. You will be required to perform in all HR functions, including ER, TUPE and Restructure process, HR Admin management, Talent and Performance Management, and rapidly learn to overcome challenges.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support, develop and implement all HR related processes and strategies aligned to the business objectives, including clause ER case management.
- Support and coach the management team on all people leadership matters, including business change and transformation. Forming strong relationships with the management team to be able to challenge and coach in a high-performance environment.
- Partner the management team to project manage organisational and procedural changes within the business area.
- Be responsible for all HR management and development (including ER/Case Management, TUPE/Restructuring procedures, recruitment and selection practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, absence management, contracts, training and development, talent management, succession planning, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related issues).
- Monitor, manage and measure and report on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales, including clause ER case management for the assigned areas.
- Continuously liaise with Managers to understand their HR requirements, reduce ER cases across all categories, and ensure they are fully informed of the HR objectives to drive the organisation forward.
Admin Related:
- End to end TUPE management and related documents preparation (TUPE in /TUPE out).
- Support the Recruitment Department with the entire onboarding process including but not limited to, creating and/or managing: Internal ads, offer letter & employment contracts, and arranging induction/onboarding experience.
- Carry out Right to Work checks for current employees whose right to work are due to expire and right to work checks for all new hires.
- Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met.
- Support the Payroll Department by providing the relevant documentation/information in a timely manner.
- Carry out the DBS checks and referencing.
- Ensure that the Probation Procedure is being adhered to and all parties involved are following it.
Recruitment duties:
- Manage recruitment needs for the company such as in-house advertisement for senior positions.
- Creating and continually improving offer letters and contracts of employment, whilst managing the timely distribution of such documents.
Training duties:
- Manage a training plan that details required training that is delivered within the agreed/specific timescales and ensure outcomes are appropriately measured and reported on.
- Develop and deliver training and communications materials to support learning and development needs.
- Manage the organisation and delivery of company induction sessions, including writing and delivering the presentations.
Officer Responsibilities:
- To assist and advise Company managers/directors on HR policy, practice, procedure and issues.
- To represent the company in a positive, professional manner at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record as a HR generalist, in an HR environment.
- Officer/Adviser/Generalist role.
- Interpersonal relationships, discretion and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment law, ER processes, Right to Work and DBS checks, TUPE law and ER practices.
- Experience of report writing utilising Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience of designing and writing HR policies, procedures, offers.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work at multiple locations with national travel involved (up to 2-4 nights per month away from home may be expected on occasion to meet business requirements).
