My client is a newly refurbished and privately owned Village Pub and Restaurant, seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join their successful kitchen brigade. Located between Colchester and Clacton, Essex this beautiful, traditional village pub is known for its quality classic British dishes, fine wine and real ale, and seats up to 80 covers including their outside area.
The restaurant is a local gem, using locally sourced produce from neighbouring farms and estates wherever possible, and game features heavily on their ever changing blackboard specials, when in season. They pride themselves on their attention to detail in all areas of the kitchen as well as the front of house, and have built up a strong brigade, led by a talented Head Chef.
The Role:
· Our Client is seeking a talented Sous Chef who lives and breathes fresh produce
· The right Sous Chef should be passionate and creative, have a passion for fresh food, be hardworking and a team player
· As Sous chef, you will work alongside the Head Chef, creating fresh seasonal dishes for their a la carte restaurant
· You will also train and mentor junior members of the brigade
· Deal with Rotas and menu completion
· You must have proven previous Sous chef experience within a fresh food establishment, be able to take control of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
