Rayment Recruitment are looking for an experienced, passionate Head Pastry Chef to join a multiple Rosette Luxury Hotel located in a village just outside Ipswich. This Luxury Hotel prides itself on using the best of British produce to create a fusion of great tastes and innovative culinary delights, whatever the occasion.

This Luxury 4 Star Hotel is surrounded by glorious parkland, yet only minutes from Ipswich. The Hotel combines the romance and charm of a Grade I listed house, with all the comforts of contemporary living. This luxury Suffolk hotel extends this philosophy to its food, offering a modern, award-winning fine dining restaurant, open every day and an impressive traditional afternoon tea served in their elegant lounges in the main house.

The Venue is a historic building with traditional decor, used today as a plush 4 red star hotel serving award winning cuisine. Extremely popular for weddings large and small, and an excellent site for corporate hire, it is an impressive and versatile building.

As Head Pastry Chef you will manage a small team and will be in charge of producing all the Pastry requirements both sweet and savoury for this 4 Star Hotel, which range from bread, afternoon teas, cakes and desserts. You will also liaise with the senior team and management as needed.

The Hotel has a busy afternoon tea trade, and because all items are made in house, the pastry team need to be organised and efficient, ensuring good communication with the Head Chef and Front of House managers.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have a proven background within 4-star hotels or worked within an 2AA rosette restaurant or higher.
  • Be responsible for delivering high standard desserts/pastries and also training junior team members.
  • Be able to deliver the 'wow factor on both plate and palate.
  • Be able to deliver modern menu designs and techniques.
  • A strong leader.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Head Pastry Chef.
  • A car driver is essential, due to village location.
