Front of House Supervisor - School
Location: Near Woodbridge, Suffolk
Salary: £13.72 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Front of House Supervisor to join the catering team at a busy school near Woodbridge.
This is a varied, hands-on position supporting front-of-house food service across the school’s dining areas, café, tuck shop, hospitality, and events. You will also help lead and support a small front-of-house team, ensuring service runs smoothly each day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting a small front-of-house team
- Serving food and refreshments to students, staff, and visitors
- Supporting daily meal service and food distribution
- Working in the café and tuck shop
- Setting up, clearing, and maintaining dining and service areas
- Assisting with school functions, hospitality, and special events
- Serving refreshments at meetings and events
- Replenishing food, drinks, and service supplies
- Operating tills and processing payments where needed
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation
- Delivering welcoming, professional customer service
- Supporting colleagues across the wider catering team as required
About you
You will be friendly, dependable, and customer-focused, with a positive approach to working as part of a busy team. You should be comfortable supervising others, managing a range of tasks, and helping colleagues deliver an excellent service.
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service is essential. Experience leading or supervising a small team would be an advantage.
You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle, as this is essential due to the location and working hours.
Working hours
40 hours per week, 48 weeks per year.
Shift patterns:
- 6.00am–3.30pm
- 11.00am–7.30pm
The role includes alternate weekend working.
