Temporary School Chef - Harlow Area
Location: Harlow Area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm
Pay Rate: Up to £18.00 per hour
Contract: Temporary
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary School Chef to work within a friendly school catering team in the Harlow area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and passionate chef seeking daytime hours with a great work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking nutritious meals for students and staff
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Managing food stock and ensuring minimal waste
- Complying with all food safety and health & safety regulations
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and inspection-ready
- Working efficiently as part of a catering team
Requirements:
- Previous chef experience within schools, education, or large-volume catering preferred
- Valid Enhanced DBS certificate is essential
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy service
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Car drivers preferred due to varying locations and transport links
