Senior Sous Chef – 2 AA Rosette
Location: Outskirts of Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Driving: Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a prestigious 2 AA Rosette venue near Chelmsford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef who is passionate about high-end cooking, fresh seasonal produce and exceptional presentation.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the daily running of the kitchen, leading the team during service and maintaining the high standards expected of a 2 AA Rosette operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes to 2 AA Rosette standards
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
- Maintain excellent food quality, consistency and presentation
- Train and develop junior members of the kitchen team
- Assist with ordering, stock control and food cost management
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety
- Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised and efficient
- Help drive continuous improvement across the kitchen
About You
We're looking for a chef with:
- Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a quality-led kitchen
- Experience within a 2 AA Rosette+ restaurant, hotel or high-end dining environment
- A genuine passion for high-quality food and seasonal ingredients
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation
- Experience training and developing kitchen teams
- Good knowledge of food safety and kitchen health & safety
- The ability to lead a busy service calmly and efficiently
- A hands-on approach and high personal standards
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the location and limited public transport.
