Are you an experienced Accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of your work, build strong client relationships, and be part of a supportive team?
We're working with a well-established and welcoming accountancy practice in Benfleet that is looking to add a talented Accountant to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys working across a varied client portfolio and wants a role offering genuine responsibility, variety, and long-term stability.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of the team, you'll manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities while supporting clients across multiple sectors.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss accounts
- Producing tax computations
- Preparing and submitting P11Ds
- Processing payroll and associated reporting
- Managing CIS returns
- Working across leading accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Providing proactive support and advice to clients
- Building strong client relationships and responding to queries efficiently
- Supporting the wider team with accounting and compliance matters
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with experienced accounting professionals who have a strong background working within an accountancy practice environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing year-end accounts
- Knowledge of payroll and CIS
- Experience using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
Qualifications
We're open to candidates who are:
- Fully Qualified (ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent), or
- Qualified by Experience (QBE)
A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to the office-based nature of the role.
