As an apprentice software engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing new products and technologies. You will use your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to create innovative solutions to challenges faced within the marine sector. Alongside your team, you will be involved in the full life cycle of new products, working closely with other departments (such as hardware and mechanical engineering) to produce vital, high-quality and reliable devices for our customers.

Your job in plain text:

  • Assist in developing software for our cutting-edge products, learning how to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.
  • Support the team in implementing software components, gaining exposure to embedded systems, communication protocols, and multi-threaded environments.
  • Help with testing and debugging software, learning how to identify and resolve integration issues.
  • Work closely with experienced engineers and the product development team, contributing to software requirements and design discussions.
  • Work within an agile environment.

To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have:

  • T-levels, A-levels, or equivalent qualifications, with a passion for pursuing a degree apprenticeship in Software Engineering.
  • An understanding of programming fundamentals, ideally with some exposure to C/C++.
  • An eagerness to learn about a variety of technologies, from embedded systems and cameras to application and platform software.
  • A willingness to develop debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a desire to write quality code.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to ask questions and learn from others.
  • Ability to be on site at least 4 days per week.
