You will be given the opportunity to work on real projects that are going into real applications safe in the knowledge that you have learnt from leaders in their field. You will spend the first 2 years moving around the business, gaining knowledge and skills in various disciplines including Mechanical and Electrical design through Production, Development and Process Engineering placements culminating in the opportunity to specialise in a field of your choice for the remaining period of your apprenticeship.
What can you get involved in:
- Mechanical product and systems design – looking at improving existing product and help develop new
- Process Engineering – looking at and evaluating processes, such as furnacing, chemical treatment
- Production Engineering – looking at any of the problems that may arise during production
- Materials Science
- Jigging design
- Electrical and Electronic system/sub system design and build
- Electrical high and low voltage testing
- Fault finding
- Data analysis
- Software design and implementation
You will also be exposed to:
- Schools Challenge - every year apprentices create and deliver a challenge for the local primary schools

If you have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Level 4 (C grade) or above, including Maths and English at Level 5/6 (Higher C,B grade), and achieved (or be predicted to achieve) a minimum of 3 A-Levels, including Maths and Chemistry / Physics / Engineering at grade C or a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering at Distinction level and have a keen interest in engineering or technology, we really want to hear from you.
