We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic decision‑making. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive firm with opportunities for development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Oversee cashflow, working capital, and financial KPIs, ensuring accuracy across WIP, billing, and revenue
- Maintain strong balance sheet controls and support audits and statutory reporting
- Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and client money regulations
- Oversee client and office account processes, including reconciliations, billing, and disbursements
- Act as escalation point for client money risks and support regulatory submissions
- Lead and develop Cashiering and Credit Control teams
- Deliver bonus and productivity reporting and support wider finance projects
Skills & Experience
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 5+ years' PQE
- Legal finance experience (SRA knowledge desirable)
- Team management experience
- Strong Excel and accounting systems (Xero preferred)
- Analytical, detail‑driven, and commercially aware
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Ability to prioritise and perform under pressure
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
