We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic decision‑making. This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive firm with opportunities for development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, and financial KPIs, ensuring accuracy across WIP, billing, and revenue.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet controls and support audits and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and client money regulations.
  • Oversee client and office account processes, including reconciliations, billing, and disbursements.
  • Act as escalation point for client money risks and support regulatory submissions.
  • Lead and develop Cashiering and Credit Control teams.
  • Deliver bonus and productivity reporting and support wider finance projects.

Skills & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 5+ years' PQE.
  • Legal finance experience (SRA knowledge desirable).
  • Team management experience.
  • Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge (Xero preferred).
  • Analytical, detail‑driven, and commercially aware.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and perform under pressure.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
