Rayden Engineering Ltd is a Mechanical & Civil Engineering Company, based in the East Midlands of England, specialising in the pre-fabrication, welding and installation of pipework systems of a wide variety of alloys. We are currently executing major contracts nationwide for major oil & gas companies that include Above Ground Installations (AGIs), pipelines and major civil works. Our continued success and growth necessitates the appointment of a Workshop Manager.
Based at our Head Office facility, the Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing all operations within the fabrication side of the business, both structural steel and pipework. You will assist in the pre-construction and estimating phases of projects and work closely with the management team to maintain and develop business relationships with clients, designers and sub-contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a busy fabrication facility.
- Ensure that each project meets its targets in terms of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate management experience in both Steel and Pipe Fabrication.
- Organise and take a leading role with the fabrication projects; plan, allocate and supervise the workforce to execute works in accordance with the project programmes.
- Maintain records/diaries and actively support the resolution of all fabrication issues.
- Check quality, health and safety standards and correct where required.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at our works facility.
- Be computer literate and a strong communicator both written and verbally.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent and at least five years' experience of working in an engineering role.
- Experience of working to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001.
- A working knowledge of project management tools such as planning using Microsoft Project would be an advantage.
- A successful track record of delivering projects on time and to budget, whilst meeting the customer's technical expectations.
- Experience in project engineering and the management of design.
- Proven track record in completing risk assessments and writing method statements.
- Ability to carry out site surveys, obtain accurate measurements and produce drawings.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Production of detailed daily fabrication diaries.
