Rayden Engineering Ltd is a Mechanical & Civil Engineering Company, based in the East Midlands of England; and specialising in the pre-fabrication, welding and installation of pipework systems of a wide variety of alloys. We are also involved in the installation of: Cross-country Pipelines and Pipeline Diversions (up to 42) and Above Ground Installations (AGIs). We are currently executing major contracts nationwide for major oil & gas companies that include AGIs, pipelines and major civil works.

Rayden Engineering Ltd. prides itself in providing a high-quality service to its customers using a dedicated and committed team.
Based at our head office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, we require the successful candidate will be driven and motivated with a proven track record. Working in a busy contracting office, the role will involve purchasing pipe, associated fittings, valves and equipment to our clients specifications. The role will also involve hiring light and heavy plant & equipment for site-based work all over the U.K.
Duties:
- Responsible for the provision of buying services to Project Teams on multiple projects located nationwide.
- Procurement of materials and equipment in accordance with an agreed programme and within budget.
- To negotiate prices, contracts, conduct tenders and benchmarking exercises.
- Build effective working relationships with suppliers.
- Provide best practise purchasing skills.
- Work with our project teams compiling all relevant specifications and standards to ensure correct and efficient procurement for projects.
- To formulate, agree and maintain commercial terms and conditions, service level and supply agreements.
- Address any Supplier performance issues using improvement techniques.
- Required to produce and submit monthly reports to the directors.
Key Buyer qualifications/skills:
- You will be an experienced buyer with proven track record of successfully managing procurement workload across multiple planned construction programmes.
- Strong commercial acumen, ability to challenge and analysis of commercial quotations and to identify the best value for the business.
- Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent (not essential)
- Experience within the Civils & Construction sector (e.g. Structures, Groundworks, Utilities etc)
- Committed and Reliable.
- Openness, Honesty and Integrity.
- Possesses a can do\’ attitude and approaches challenging situations in a positive and enthusiastic manner
