Construction Inspectors - Rochester, NY

Ravi Engineering and Land Surveying P.C. is currently looking for Construction Inspectors and Office Engineers for the upcoming season on a variety of Road and Bridge projects for NYSDOT Region 4 in Rochester. Responsibilities include performing on-site inspection of various heavy highway and/or bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. All positions require a combination of both office and field duties. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent Valid Driver\’s License and reliable transportation Valid NICET Certification or equivalent Education/Experience Attention to detail Ability to read, understand, and properly document collected data Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs NICET III/IV – minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in inspection of heavy highway and bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. Prior Locally Administered, NYSDOT and/or NYS Thruway experience required. NYSDOT retirees are encouraged to apply. NICET II – minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in inspection of heavy highway and bridge rehabilitation/replacement projects. Candidates should have experience working with NYSDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials and NYSDOT Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK). Good oral and written communication skills are essential. DESIRED (NON-REQUIRED) CERTIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Degree in Civil Engineering Technology Studies or similar field of study ACI – American Concrete Institute NETTCP – Soils and Aggregate Inspector NICET – National Institution for Certification in Engineering Technologies NYSDOT Certified in HMA and PCC NACE – National Association of Corrosion Engineers COMPENSATION: This is for the 2025 Construction season and is full-time employment with all company benefits Hourly Rates Range from $35-$50/hr contingent on State Certification Level/Experience Excellent Employee Benefits Available Participation in our 401 K plan Please send resume and cover letter to the email address above.
