We’re working with a well-established mechanical and electrical services provider in Wigan to recruit a full-time, permanent Health & Safety Manager. This is a hands‑on leadership role that will suit someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to embed safe working practices across live projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the development of RAMS, WPPs, COSHH assessments, toolbox talks, and other documentation
- Carrying out planned and reactive site audits across multiple projects
- Driving behavioural safety and coaching site teams on best practice
- Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015, Building Safety Act 2022, and internal processes
- Leading accident investigations and preparing root cause analysis reports
- Managing training records and coordinating external courses
- Verifying subcontractor compliance, documentation, and site conduct
- Producing monthly safety reports and recommending process improvements
Skills & Experience Required
Essential :
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
- Experience within M&E, building services or general construction
- Sound knowledge of CDM 2015 and BSA 2022
- Strong auditing and incident investigation experience
- Confident communicator with the ability to coach and lead
- Competent writing RAMS, WPPs, COSHH assessments
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable :
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or higher
- TechIOSH / GradIOSH (or working towards CMIOSH)
- Fire safety knowledge (compartmentation, inspections, IFE certs)
- Familiarity with systems like SharePoint, ACC, Fieldview, or PowerBI
