The Opportunity
Our client is one of North Wales' leading independent M&E contractors and they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their team in Deeside. This is a full-time, permanent role managing mechanical contracts from post-award through to practical completion.
The business has a loyal client base built largely on repeat work and referrals, which means the person coming into this role is stepping into an environment where relationships matter and where delivery is what drives the next appointment. It is a role that suits someone who takes real ownership of their contracts.
About the Business
Established in 2008, our client began as an electrical contractor and expanded into mechanical services in 2011 - since when they have offered the complete M&E package and outgrown their original premises in the process. Projects range from £10,000 to £5 million, and the clear majority of their workload comes through referrals and repeat clients, which reflects how consistently they deliver.
Their client list includes local authorities, schools and universities, blue-chip main contractors and national organisations, with a particularly strong track record in extra care and care home developments across the region. They hold full accreditation including NICEIC, ECA, Gas Safe and Constructionline, and their philosophy from design through to handover is built around attention to detail at every stage.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of mechanical contracts from handover by the pre-construction team through to completion
- Managing and mentoring site-based mechanical supervisors and operatives
- Developing and maintaining contract programmes
- Overseeing commercial performance including valuations, variations and subcontract procurement
- Attending progress meetings and acting as the primary point of contact for clients and main contractors
- Ensuring all works are delivered in compliance with current health and safety legislation
- Carrying out site inspections and quality audits throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within M&E contracting
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services
- Comfortable managing projects across commercial, industrial or care/residential sectors
- Confident running client and progress meetings
- Solid understanding of NEC or JCT contract forms
- Relevant trade background or engineering qualification
- Based within commutable distance of Deeside
What's on Offer
- Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
- Company benefits package
- Permanent, full-time position
- A well-regarded contractor with a loyal client base and a consistent pipeline
