Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all commercial aspects of M&E projects from bid through to final account.
- Managing a team of quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
- Providing strategic insight and ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with client expectations.
- Leading the commercial function for multiple projects.
- Preparing cost reports, valuations, and contract documentation.
- Managing cashflow forecasts, CVRs, and final accounts.
- Negotiating with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Identifying risks and opportunities, and managing them proactively.
- Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff.
- Working closely with operations, pre-construction, and design teams.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, and standard forms of contract.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Confidence in leading commercial negotiations and building relationships.
- Strong reporting skills and financial analysis capability.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar).
- Ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
