We are currently seeking a Mechanical Site Manager in Manchester to take day-to-day ownership of mechanical installation works across live building services projects. This role is best suited to someone who runs an organised site, leads teams properly, and keeps safety, quality and programme aligned from the ground up. You'll be based from the Manchester area, but must be comfortable travelling to project sites nationwide as required.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing mechanical site delivery from pre-start through installation and close-out
- Coordinating mechanical labour and subcontractors, driving productivity and good site standards
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and to specification
- Running daily briefings, toolbox talks and maintaining strong health and safety compliance
- Coordinating with other trades, supervisors and project management to keep work fronts moving
- Planning short-term lookaheads, access requirements, materials and plant to avoid downtime
- Overseeing quality checks, snagging, and readiness for testing and commissioning
- Maintaining tidy site records, progress updates and reporting issues early
- Supporting permits, RAMS and site documentation in line with project requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager / Supervisor within building services
- Strong knowledge of mechanical installation (HVAC, pipework, plantroom works, ventilation)
- Confident leading teams and subcontractors across active construction environments
- Strong health and safety awareness with a structured approach to site control
- Comfortable travelling across the North-West to support multiple project sites
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)
- CSCS card (preferred, depending on project requirements)
