What You Will Be Doing

  • Producing electrical designs from concept through to construction stage
  • Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to develop clear, buildable solutions
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings, and client requirements
  • Undertaking calculations, lighting designs, cable sizing, and distribution layouts
  • Supporting tender and construction documentation
  • Liaising with pre-construction, estimating, and site delivery teams
  • Conducting site visits as needed to assess design integration and buildability
  • Assisting junior design staff and contributing to continuous design improvement

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong background in electrical building services design
  • Experience working for a contractor or consultancy on commercial and public sector projects
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux, Relux)
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of current building regulations and BS 7671 wiring regulations
  • Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
