Operating from their Warrington base, they deliver mechanical and electrical engineering across a broad mix of sectors, with the capability to take projects from initial design through to installation and ongoing maintenance. It's a business with real infrastructure, a serious client portfolio and a track record that speaks for itself. This is a senior commercial appointment. You'll lead the QS function, manage the output of the commercial team and hold full responsibility for cost management across a portfolio of M&E contracts.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the commercial function from the Warrington office, managing and mentoring a team of QS professionals
  • Taking overall responsibility for cost management across a portfolio of M&E design, installation and maintenance contracts
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
  • Managing subcontract procurement, letting, and commercial administration from award through to close-out
  • Preparing and presenting CVRs and cost-to-completion forecasts to senior management
  • Driving robust variation and change control processes across the team
  • Supporting pre-construction and bid activity with commercial input at tender stage
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the commercial function as the business continues to grow

What We're Looking For

  • Solid M&E contracting background with experience across both project and maintenance/FM contracts
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring a commercial team, or a clear track record that demonstrates readiness to do so
  • Confident handling the full commercial cycle independently, from pre-award through to final account
  • Sound knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract forms
  • Strong on variation management, cost reporting, subcontract administration and CVR preparation
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at senior level
