An established M&E engineering specialist is hiring a Mechanical Pre-Construction Engineer into its Warrington office, as the pre-construction team grows. The business designs, builds and maintains highly serviced, controlled and process-critical facilities: industrial, food and drink, FMCG, pharmaceutical and process.
The role runs from the site survey through to the quotation. You see the problem on the client's site, design the answer, and price what you designed.
- Survey client sites and assess their needs and technical issues
- Develop outline and pre-construction mechanical designs to support pricing and client presentations
- Estimate and price the projects you survey and design, using estimating software
- Prepare and issue quotations
- Keep the CRM updated with enquiries and opportunities
- Work alongside the wider pre-construction, design and delivery teams
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services
- AutoCAD experience, plus design software such as H2X or similar
- Comfortable working on client sites and identifying technical problems
- Good communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients
- Estimating software experience, or the willingness to learn it
- A full UK driving licence
- Design experience is preferred rather than required
Design engineers, estimators who could grow into the design side, and anyone wanting to move into an office-based role are all worth a conversation. Estimating training is provided.
£60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.
A role that runs survey to design to price, rather than one slice of it. Direct client contact instead of working from someone else's brief. Design, estimating and delivery in house, so the work you price gets built by the same business.
Nothing is sent to the client until you have seen who they are and said yes. Apply through this advert, then speak to Mike Halliwell to find out more about the business before you take it any further.
