An established M&E engineering specialist is hiring an M&E Document Controller into its Warrington operation, covering live projects from tender through to handover. The business designs, builds and maintains highly serviced, controlled and process-critical facilities: industrial, food and drink, FMCG, pharmaceutical and process. It holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and design, estimating and delivery are all in house. These are regulated sites, where the drawings, the approvals and the handover records are part of what gets accepted. The documentation is not an afterthought on these jobs, which is the difference between this role and document control somewhere the paperwork follows the work.
- Manage project documentation through the document management systems, from tender to handover
- Maintain drawing registers and track revisions, statuses and approvals
- Issue and log transmittals to clients, main contractors, consultants and subcontractors
- Coordinate technical submittals, RAMS and quality records, and chase the responses
- Compile O&M manuals, test certificates and commissioning records for handover
- Set up document structures for new projects and keep the filing consistent
- Support ISO 9001 processes and prepare records for audits
- Act as the point of contact for project teams needing information
Document control experience, ideally in an M&E, construction or engineering business. Familiarity with drawing registers, revision control and transmittals. Comfortable handling technical documents: submittals, RAMS, certificates, O&M records. Confident with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and happy to learn new software. Strong organisation and attention to detail. Clear communication and the confidence to follow up with people inside and outside the business. Project administration experience is also worth a conversation. SharePoint, Viewpoint or Aconex experience is an advantage rather than a requirement, and no formal qualifications are needed.
£30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package. A permanent role with an accredited M&E business rather than project-by-project work. Varied projects across regulated industrial and process environments. Room to develop as a document control specialist as the North-West operation grows.
Nothing is sent to the client until you have seen who they are and said yes. Apply through this advert, then speak to Mike Halliwell to find out more about the business before you take it any further.
