We are looking for a reliable and experienced Chef/Cook to join our friendly care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals for residents according to dietary requirements.
- Plan menus that meet nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Manage food stock, storage, and ordering of supplies.
- Work closely with care staff to accommodate special dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in adult care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (experience in a care home or healthcare setting is preferred).
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate desirable).
- Ability to prepare meals for large groups.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- A caring and patient approach when working around residents.
