At Ravensbourne, we are looking for an experienced and passionate 2D Animation Senior Lecturer to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a newly established animation course and make a vital contribution to content development and delivery.

Animation is a key part of our Design School.

We aim to expand the pool of talent working with our brilliant and ambitious students in this dynamic area.

This role includes teaching 2D animation across all levels in our Design department, designing, leading and delivering modules, and helping to develop an engaging curriculum whilst working alongside a range of connected disciplines within the design department (such as Character Design and Illustration).

We are open to applicants looking for a full-time role, as well as to applicants looking to share the role on a fractional basis (0.6/0.4).

This means working to high standards using complex and evolving technology and having a broad understanding of industry directions.

You’ll be working closely with our BA Animation course leader and our Head of Department to further our current collaborations with prominent industry partners and contribute to an innovative work-based learning programme.

  • A great communicator with experience of teaching animation at HE level (or equivalent).
  • A problem solver with a solution-driven flexible approach.
  • An experienced animator with the ability to work across analogue and digital domains.
  • Autonomous and enjoy working on your own initiative.
  • Organised, with experience in managing multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines.
  • Experienced in using 2D Animation software such as Toon Boom (or equivalent) for frame by frame and cut out animation.
