The role
The Admissions team, in close collaboration with the Marketing and Student Recruitment teams, provides a vital service to support the University in meeting its recruitment targets across all Further Education, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate courses. With increasing competition to convert students, it is crucial that the team delivers an efficient, fair, proactive, and customer-focused service for applicants and internal stakeholders.
The Admissions Manager is responsible for the operational management of the university’s admissions service, ensuring a seamless and high-quality applicant journey from initial inquiry through to enrolment. They will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Admissions team, ensuring that applications—whether via UCAS or direct routes—are processed efficiently, accurately, and in line with university policies and sector best practices.
The Admissions Manager will support the Head of Admissions in developing and refining admissions processes, procedures, and policies to enhance efficiency, compliance, and applicant experience. They will also play a key role in training and guiding the Admissions team, monitoring service performance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
The candidate
This role is a key position within the University and will be expected maintain successful operational relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple departments in order to support the delivery of the team’s objectives, as well as provide excellent line management support to Admissions Officers.
