Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to deliver roofing and building supplies across multiple locations. Your enthusiasm for driving and commitment to excellent service will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities
- Ensuring goods are loaded, secured, and unloaded safely, sometimes involving manual lifting or operating vehicle equipment.
- Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure they are in optimal condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with securing loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Driving 26T rigid crane vehicles over long or short distances while adhering to road traffic laws, speed limits, and strict delivery schedules.
- Maintaining accurate digital tachograph records, driving hours, and delivery paperwork (PODs).
- Reporting delays, accidents, or vehicle faults to transport managers, and providing professional customer service at delivery points.
- Conducting daily pre-trip vehicle walk-around checks, including checking tyres, brakes, and fuel, to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
- Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times.
Experience
- Delivery driver experience involving loading and unloading in a variety of commercial and residential situations.
- Slingers/Signallers certificate of competence.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation for efficient deliveries.
- Use of Mobile Electronic Proof of Delivery Systems (EPODs).
