Our client is an established M&E engineering specialist based in Warrington, delivering predominantly into industrial, food and drink, FMCG, and pharmaceutical environments. This is a senior role within their in-house design team, taking full ownership of mechanical design delivery from concept through to installation, providing technical direction to less experienced engineers, and working alongside the pre-construction and delivery teams.
It is a permanent role in Warrington, with a salary of £50,000 to £65,000 depending on experience, plus a full benefits package.

What you'll be doing:
- Taking ownership of mechanical building services design from concept through to installation and commissioning.
- Designing mechanical systems for industrial, process, food and drink, and pharmaceutical environments, including live production facilities.
- Producing calculations, specifications, schematics, and design documentation to a high technical standard.
- Accounting for hygiene, containment, process integration, and validation requirements within the design.
- Providing technical direction and mentoring to less experienced design engineers.
- Supporting the pre-construction team with design input at tender and bid stage.
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and specialist suppliers on technical matters.
- Resolving design queries and supporting the delivery team through installation and commissioning.
- Contributing to design standards and best practice across the team.
What we're looking for:
- A strong mechanical building services design background, with experience taking designs from concept through to delivery.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience designing for industrial, process, food and drink, FMCG, or pharmaceutical environments is a significant advantage.
- Confident producing calculations, specifications, and design documentation independently.
- Comfortable providing technical direction to others and acting as a point of reference within a design team.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Chartership or working towards it is welcomed, though not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
