As our Welfare Officer you will deliver a tailored service to vulnerable customers identified as needing additional support, helping them maintain a successful tenancy and to manage issues around safety and risk where necessary, as well as providing early intervention including multi-agency working and signposting to specialist partners.

Raven is here to make a difference, working as a team to build homes and change lives. We’re also ambitious: a sector-leader in carbon reduction, with commercial ventures and a focus on the future. But it’s not just what we do, it’s how we do it that sets us apart from other organisations and helps us create a great experience for our customers and one another.

Our culture statements form the principles for how we work and what we expect of one another whilst working together as One Raven:

  • We Put Customers First in everything we do.
  • We will Always Be Curious about how we can do better.
  • We work together to Make It Happen.

What you’ll achieve in the role:

  • Help residents sustain tenancies by identifying risks linked to vulnerability, disability, or social challenges and delivering targeted support to prevent tenancy breakdown.
  • Carry out risk assessments in the home to ensure own and others’ personal safety.
  • Conduct welfare checks where concerns have been raised by staff, neighbours, or third parties, assessing the resident’s situation and taking proportionate steps to protect their wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed case records, generating reports to highlight outcomes, risks, and lessons learned that inform future service design.
  • Represent Raven at multi-agency forums such as MARAC, safeguarding reviews, and case conferences to ensure resident welfare is prioritised and protected.

What you’ll bring to Raven:

  • Awareness of relevant legislation and good practice in tenancy management, welfare support, and housing law (e.g. Care Act 2014, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Equality Act 2010).
  • Experience managing a caseload, including conducting home visits, coordinating multi-agency support, and delivering positive outcomes for service users.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles for adults and children, including when and how to escalate concerns.

You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better. DBS clearance will be required for this role.

What Raven will offer in return:

To create a great experience for our customers, we need to create a great experience for one another. What Raven offers goes beyond the ordinary, giving you the opportunity to join a community of people who share the same values and are passionate about making a difference.

Our reward package includes:

  • Strong focus on learning and development, with opportunities to grow your skills and career
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay
  • Funded health cash plan
