Maintenance Technician in Montgomery

Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Purpose of Role:

To maintain and repair physical structures, pipe and electrical systems, mechanical and hydraulic components of the production department machines and equipment, and machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic and conveyor systems. Perform a variety of maintenance and repair duties under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions:

• Performs minor electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance. Tasks to include (but not limited to) replacement of wall switches, outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, transformers, sockets, and fuses.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance, repair, and installation. Tasks to include repairing of leaks in water supplies, drains, faucets, and laboratory fixtures. Clears obstructions from drain lines.
• Performs minor HVAC maintenance and repairs. Tasks to include filter replacement, belt changes and greasing of bearings.
• Performs minor carpentry repairs. Tasks to include repairs to masonry, woodwork, walls, and furnishings, patches or replaces plaster/plaster board, paints walls and ceilings and trim, cuts, and lays flooring (linoleum, tile, carpet, etc.
• Performs periodic standard inspections and preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and handle tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to understand specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings for installation, maintenance and repair of structures and equipment is preferred.
• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours.

Job Requirement:

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Two to five years industrial maintenance experience required.
• Great attendance and work record required.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic experience preferred.
• Forklift experience
• Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, walk, climb and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must have agility to maneuver up and down stairs, ladders and in other challenging areas.
• Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to endure hot and cold temperatures.
• Must have good eye-hand coordination.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.

Location:

Montgomery, Illinois

The employee occasionally works weekends and works evenings when on call.

SALARY RANGE: $68,000 – $80,000 per year
