Ravago Manufacturing UK – Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for electrical and mechanical work supporting production operations, safety, continuous improvement and planned preventative maintenance. The job is based in Leigh, Greater Manchester. The team will consist of 2 multi-skilled operators taking care of a 24/5 production facility.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and repair activities on three polymer compounding extrusion lines and ancillaries.
- Maintenance and repair activities on four polymer shredding and granulation lines and ancillaries.
- Maintenance and repair activities on blending, feeding and material transfer systems.
- Maintenance and repair activities on single and three phase electrical equipment.
- Maintenance and repair activities on hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC diagnostic and repair, preventative maintenance.
- Project and project support activities.
- Continuous improvement.
- Maintaining stores and electronic records using the business maintenance system – Ultimo.
- Organizing maintenance activities and where appropriate ensuring all machine operators carry out necessary routines to ensure the highest level of uptime.
- Improving production output through utilizing maintenance and engineering solutions.
- Assist in developing work instructions, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Math and English GCSE pass or equivalent.
- HNC / HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Electrical.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience working in an industrial environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of logic controllers and ability to troubleshoot.
- Electrical knowledge and experience in wiring, circuits and electrical/electronic components, reading and interpretation of schematics and technical drawings.
- Welding skills for basic repairs and small fabrication.
- Ability to repair and maintain mechanical systems including motors, conveyors, pumps and heavy duty shredders and grinders.
Our ideal candidate will enjoy working autonomously or as part of a small team, will be self-motivated, a problem solver and flexible.
Job type: Permanent / Full-time / Monday to Friday / Typically 07.30 – 16.30 with paid call out requirement as necessary.
